Impact and our people
Keeping metals in use. Creating work in India.
Mixed scrap still holds useful metal. Our job is to import it, sort it and get it back into production, and to create employment while we do it.
40–50 women on our sorting lines every day
Sorting by hand is careful, skilled work. We employ 40–50 women on our sorting lines each day, separating mixed scrap into stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and zinc. Their work is the centre of how the business runs.
We believe employment is one of the best ways to fight poverty. Creating it is part of why Orion exists, and we'll share our team's stories in their own words, with their consent.
Why recycling metal matters
These are industry figures. Orion hasn't published measured energy or emissions figures of its own yet.
